On the morning of May 7, 2024, around 7:30 am, the Fort St. John RCMP received a call for assistance from the Grande Prairie RCMP regarding a stolen pickup truck suspected to be in the vicinity.

Responding promptly, the Fort St. John RCMP discovered the stolen pickup parked at the Walmart lot on 9007 96A Street, Fort St. John. Reports indicated that four young males were behaving suspiciously and were linked to the vehicle. Subsequently, all four youths were apprehended by the Fort St. John RCMP without any resistance.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that one of the youths had been driving the stolen vehicle and will be charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime exceeding $5000. Another youth had an outstanding warrant from Nanaimo, BC, leading to their arrest based on the warrant.

Hailing from the areas of Hythe and Grande Prairie, Alberta, the youths were detained until they could be released into the custody of their guardians. The youth charged with possession of stolen property was released on bail with specific conditions and a scheduled court appearance in the future.
