100 Women Who Care

May 14, 2018, Grande Prairie AB — On March 15th 100+ Women who care held their quarterly meeting at the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. The meeting began with a presentation from Joanne Gravel, Executive Director, Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens. She shared with them how their November donation of $12,300 impacted their organization. Following that we heard from three amazing charities. Members voted and PACE Community Support, Sexual Assault and Trauma Centre was chosen as the recipient collecting $11,000.
With the donation of an IPad, which the ladies were able to auction off. And not only receive some money, but that lady then donated it back. With the second auction of the IPad, the ladies were able to purchase a booth at the Spring GP Women’s show. With volunteers working the booth for the weekend, they have hopes of growing their group numbers, and being able to continue to make a large impact in the community of Grande Prairie.

The next meeting will be held on May 24th. This day marks a special day, the women are looking forward to their 2 year anniversary. The meeting will be held at The Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club, whom have generously donated their space and time the past two years, and continue to do so. The women are looking forward to celebrating donating over $110,000 in their two years. The charities that have been donated to in the past two years have been; Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care, Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta - Jody Evans, Fund, HIV North Society, Grande Prairie Friendship Center – Walking with our sisters, Aurora House, St. Lawrence Centre, Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens and PACE. They are looking forward to seeing returning members, as well as new members recruited from the Women show, who may be interested in getting involved in the group, or anyone else who has heard of them and would like to stop by and see how the meetings are ran.

100+ Women who Care Grande Prairie and Area, are looking forward to another great two years of being able to help and impact the people of Grande Prairie in a simple way.
They are always looking for volunteers, sponsors, and donations for 100% of the money to continue to go directly to the charities.
