Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) is experiencing a remarkable year, marked by the announcement of three new programs within just a few months. One standout offering is the forthcoming Agriculture Operations diploma, slated to begin in November 2024.

This two-year program, rooted in Fairview, Alberta, reflects NWP's commitment to training the next generation of agriculture professionals. Developed in collaboration with industry partners, the diploma boasts two extensive work terms where students will gain practical experience alongside seasoned professionals.

“Our new diploma pathway provides a great balance of theoretical and practical knowledge for aspiring grain and livestock professionals,” says Dr. Brian Redmond, Dean of Applied Science and Technology. “We recognize the significant opportunity for impact locally and are committed to working with our partners on productive solutions in this space.”

Covering essential aspects of agriculture, from equipment maintenance to ethical practices, the curriculum prepares students for the field's demands. Applications will open soon, and prospective students can learn more at NWP.me/Agriculture. NWP is poised to make a significant impact on Alberta's agricultural landscape through this innovative program.
