To protect the health and safety of customers, communities and employees, Aquatera Utilities Inc. has temporarily closed the Sexsmith Bulk Water Station, located at 10009 Elevator Road, effective Thursday, December 23, until further notice.

Recent cold weather events in the Grande Prairie region have resulted in ice buildup on the concrete pads, creating hazardous safety conditions for customers.

“As customers fill their units, water spillage can occur,” says Vaughn Bend, Chief Executive Officer of Aquatera. “With the colder temperatures we have been experiencing, this leads to icy and slippery patches that can impact the safety of our customers.”

During the temporary closure, customers are asked to use Aquatera’s other bulk water stations:

• 13405 97 Street Grande Prairie, AB, east of Keddies, across the tracks, first turn to the left;

• 12109 97 Avenue Grande Prairie, AB, west of EMCO, or southwest of Peavey Mart;

• 711079 RR73 in Dimsdale.

The Sexsmith Bulk Water Station will reopen when it is safe to do so.
