The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce Ready, Set, Go! a free community event presented by Ovintiv at the Community Knowledge Campus on Saturday, March 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the shift into spring.

“We’re thrilled to introduce Ready, Set, Go! in partnership with Ovintiv, as an opportunity to celebrate our community spirit and revel in a shared joy of coming together,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We look forward to having residents at this free community event that incorporates a variety of activities for all ages while fostering positive relationships with key event supporters.”

We are very proud to partner with the City of Grande Prairie through the Ready, Set, Go! event.”

Lots of free family-friendly activities take place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. across the Eastlink Centre and Design Works Centre, including:

·       Fieldhouse obstacle course

·       Inflatable obstacle cours

·       Kids corner with crafts and colouring sheet

·       Public skating & stick and puck times, including rentals (limited supplies available)

·       Cookie decorating

·       Free facility access at the Eastlink Centre (inclusive of the aquatics area, fitness centre, squash and racquetball courts, concourse and track)

·       Cannon ball contest beginning at 1 p.m.

·       eSport Game Lounge in the Hockey Legends Lounge at Design Works Centre

The aquatics area will close from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. after the event to give staff the opportunity to reset the pool deck and ensure as many people as possible can enjoy the area for the free public swimming at the Ready, set, Go! event.

Aquatics will re-open at 6 p.m. for limited public swim in the evening on March 23.
