Environment Canada has issued a rain fall warning for GP and area and a special weather statement for Dawson Creek tonight and tomorrow.

Rainfall will begin tonight with upwards of 60 mm of rain expected. The rain will taper off by Thursday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

For Dawson Creek area, A low pressure system streaming from the south will stall over B.C. bringing heavy rainfall to parts of the B.C. Peace.

Rain will begin over southern B.C. Peace Wednesday morning and continue until early Thursday morning.

Tumbler Ridge can expect to see near 20 mm with extreme southern areas such as Kakwa Provincial Park receiving up to 50 mm by Thursday morning.
