Grande Prairie, Dawson Creek, and Fort St. John are under a severe thunderstorm watch. 

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Slow moving thunderstorms are possible this afternoon which could lead to localized flooding.

As the afternoon progresses, the thunderstorms will start to move a little faster but the threat of large hail will grow. Large hail can damage property and cause injury.

Environment Canada is also tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. The thunderstorm is located about 12 km south of Hudson Hope, near the junction of Highway 29 and Johnson Creek Forest Service Road. This thunderstorm is moving to the northeast at 20 km/h.
