A comprehensive program of upgrades spanning multiple main arteries will follow in sequence. The subsequent projects include:

  • 100 Avenue between 102 Street and 105 street
  • Richmond Industrial Park area streets:
    • 115 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue
    • 95 Avenue between 113 Street and 116 Street
    • 96 Avenue between 113 Street and 115 Street
    • 113 Street between 95 Avenue and 97 Avenue

“The City of Grande Prairie appreciates the patience and understanding of residents during construction, and we recognize the impact it has on your morning commutes and daily routines. We thank you for your understanding as this investment in the road network underscores our commitment to improving transportation infrastructure for the entire community’s benefit,” says Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton.

Scope of Work

The work consists of several key components, including:

  • Roadway asphalt milling
  • Storm sewer infrastructure repairs
  • Concrete work
  • Bridge deck waterproofing
  • Asphalt overlay paving
  • Line markings
  • Landscaping.

These measures are strategically designed to improve overall road conditions and fortify the durability of the infrastructure.

What to Expect

During construction, motorists should anticipate one-lane alternating traffic within construction zones. The City urges all commuters to exercise caution and adhere to directional signage. We kindly request your patience and cooperation as we strive to minimize traffic disruptions and expedite project completion.

Temporary closures and detours will be implemented to ensure the safety of both motorists and pedestrians. Signage and alternative routes will be in place to facilitate navigation through the affected areas.
